Go Obama!

RARELY, do I discuss politics. It's not that I don't follow them, but I don't always get my views verbalized well and therefore end up in arguements that are pointless.

But after reading a friend's blog, I have to agree with her words:

History in the making as "the first serious woman Presidential nominee asking the first woman Speaker of the House to unanimously nominate the first black man for President. This is like my World Series." How AWESOME!! THe video clip can be seen here. She's right....that's better than the World Series....but I'm still hoping to watch the Cubs in that this fall!!

Oh, and how cool, I live in IL where Obama is from, and he picked Biden from DE, where I grew up, as his running mate. I think Biden was the ONLY senator we ever had in my entire life!!

Good bye Erin!

Last week, we were invited to a playdate at a friends house, Erin, to say goodbye to her and the boys, before they moved to Michigan. Well, we crashed it and turned it into a baby shower without her knowing!!! Ha ha! I think we surprised her good!!! I even got Steve to make her a birthday cake, (she'd jokingly asked for one before so here was my chance!!).

We all had a great time hanging out, opening gifts, eating cake and other goodies, and the kids loved playing together.

Steve's cake (modeled after a cell phone text message!)

Trevor holding Chocolate Baby (can you tell he wants to be a big brother again!).

Erin, you've been an awesome friend, a great supporter, and I'll miss you lots. The boys are gonna miss your boys too, and I can't wait to come visit and meet that little girl!!! Take care mama.... I'll be texting you!!

Out on a Boat

So since my mom is visiting us, we spent the day with Grandma and went out on the boat! It was a BEAUTIFUL day, since when is it 78 and fabulous in August in the Midwest?? The weather was great, not a cloud in the sky, and the boys were just happy to have their two grandma's undivided attention!!

Trevor at the helm
The boys enjoying the view
Watching the diggers dredging the lake. We spent a LONG time watching these!!
Playing fort under the raft!
Mam-gu enjoying a peaceful moment

2 Grandmas!

Trevor was SO excited to find out I was going to work yesterday. Why? Well aside from the fact that Grandma comes to babysit and she is WAY cooler than me, Mam-gu (my mom) is in town to visit and that meant he had TWO grandmas to hang out with and play with!!! HOW FUN!!!!

Apples vs. Fries

Kids are SO unpredictable at times....

My kids LOVE fruit. We eat tons of bananas, apples, grapes, cantelope. You name it we eat it. They love veggies too! Corn, carrots, broccoli. But like any kids, they willingly eat at McDonald's any chance they get. They love their nuggets, fries, and chocolate millk. For years that's been our standard order for the kids....not burgers, not plain milk, no changes.

Imagine my surprise when about 2 weeks ago we went to McD's with Daddy, and he pointed out to them the picture of apple dippers that you can get with your Happy Meal. Yes, my kids love fruit, but seriously, what kid would CHOOSE apples over fries. Apparently, my kids would. EVERY TIME! We've been about 3 times since then (yikes, that's a lot in a short time!) and they don't want anything to do with fries, they want the apples. They don't even steal my fries!!! How cool is this!!!

Day Out With Thomas

Thomas the Train. Anyone familiar with this guy??? We are Thomas lovers in this house, the boys that is. I actually grew up with the Thomas books because they were hugely popular in England years ago, and so my mom brought them home with her and there ya go.

Anyway, today was the big Day Out With Thomas day, which is held at a local historical railway museum where they have tons of steam and electric trains and streetcars, and Thomas himself comes to visit for the day and take tons of excited under 7 year olds on rides.

The boys had a blast!!!

Before riding Thomas, everyone must play mini-golf! Trevor's not bad....
Blake, however, does quite a bit of cheating
And of course, you can't skip out on the Bounce House
And there's Sir Topham Hatt....let's chase him down!
Checking out some of the cool old trains

There's Thomas....ready to go!
Trev and Blake, ready to ride!
It was a fabulous day!

Random Photos

It's been ages since I've posted anything, and I kinda feel bad. But I still can't think of much to blog about....hmmm? Wonder why that is?

The kids and I have been busy enjoying summer. We've been to parks, and played with friends. Nothing fancy or spectacular leaps to mind, but enjoyable none the less.

I'm getting back into the swing of things with work. August means back to school, so I'm back to work attending Open Houses at all my schools and working to get my sales up for the year (yeah, in this economy, good luck with that!!). So, maybe that's where all my time and energy are going instead of here....oops!

The next few weeks will be busy with work for me, and the last two weeks spent with a good friend whose two boys are great friends with my two boys. She's leaving us and moving back to the other side of the lake, so we've got lots of plans for the next two weeks.

Here are some random recent photos that I just downloaded off the camera. Enjoy!!

Daddy "working out" with the boys!!

Trevor shivering after completely LOVING the water slides at the pool!

Blake loves Daddy's cooking so much, he licks the plate clean!

Long Time No Post

It's been ages since I've had anything to write about....even when I posted last week it was all old stuff. And still, I've got nothing to say.

Can't think of any cute stories about the kids (do you want to hear about Trevor puking? see didn't think so!).

Don't feel like explaining how Blake got a big goose egg on his forehead this morning (oops, bad mommy!).

Not energized enough about anything to rant and rave. No news is good news right?!

Have to work a lot this week, so maybe that's the issue.

So what's new with you??
