Random Photos

It's been busy lately....a download of my camera, provides the best possible update.

Izzy in a box. She liked it, the boys liked it, I found another box for what I needed. The boys pushed her (gently) around as if she was driving a race car! She thought that was great! My little fashionista in her first pair of BabyLegs. I love them!!!
Hanging with Daddy and laughing at his jokes!
The shirt says "Mommy's Girl" in case you can't read it! And boy, is she ever!

"We love our sister Mommy! But why is she wearing a Cubs shirt?" The boys have recently decided to become Cardinals fans. Seriously??? How dare they....I'm kicking them out of the house now! Izzy's first train ride! We took a short jaunt to go to a new park, and to satisfy the boys' desire to ride the train! Everyone had a blast!

Apples and Dancing, and Cubbies, Oh My!

Well, another week and a lack of blogging. I'm really slacking here aren't I? No new excuses, see last week's post for my pathetic list of reasons!

Anyway, I must do a little update, mostly on my reality TV watching.

**********************************************************************************
Amazing Race....good episode. Sorry that we didn't lose either the blondes, or the newly dating couple-Terrence and Sarah.

The blondes drove me a little nutty with the boat challenge.....if you don't think you can do it, fine....go do the other one!!

The divorcees, Kelly & Christy, drove me CRAZY with their lack of reading-skills.... geez! How many more clue blunders can you make in an episode.

But Terrence & Sarah took this cake this week. Seriously, he's got issues....a baby after the cab trunk hit him in the head-demading 'mothering' from Sarah; over-emotional in line for the airplane (not that Tina wasn't a PITA!); rude to Sarah constantly; goes the wrong way leaving the detour and then has a fit in the middle of town; and they end up coming in third!!! GEEZ... I could stand to see them leave!!

***********************************************************************
I quite enjoyed DWTS tonight. My favorite 4: Lance & Lacey-I'm glad they went traditional, Maurice & Cheryl, Warren & Kym-god he can dance, and Brooke & Derek. It was sad to see Misty go, and I hope she'll recover and come back to jive on a future season results show. Sorry to say, it's still time for me to see Cloris go. I don't really appreciate her humor and bottom line it's a dancing competition and she didn't do much dancing!

***********************************************************************

As for baseball..... Damn the Cubs. What a depressing end to a phenomenal season. And when my darling, but sports inept, husband says to me, "Why are you surprised? It's been 100 years!", I want to smack him!! Aside from that response, I think it's harder for me this year because they were so good and so consistent all season long. To go 3 and out is just killer. Add to that 9 straight post-season losses, well.... 'nuff said. Trevor is bummed, and if he continues as a Cubs fan, I guess he'll learn that is a way of life.

***********************************************************************
Finally.... on a much more interesting note, and less TV related. The boys and I enjoyed a gorgeous fall day picking apples. We picked a 1/2 bushel....that's a lot of apples! And had a great time. We met friends there, and thank god they brought cameras, cause I forgot. So pictures will be coming soon. Trevor ate about 3 apples, while picking, and Blake probably 2. They adore this kind of stuff, and now I just have to figure out what to make with so many apples!!!

Houston, we have a problem!

Well, Houston may have a problem. But Chicago is doing JUST FINE!!! In baseball terms at least!!!

Yesterday, I took advantage of a wonderful series of coincidences. The one not wonderful part being Hurricane Ike. I do hope that everyone impacted by Ike is safe and sound, and that they can get back home ASAP. That being said...

The wonderful coincidences: the timing of the hurricane and the Cubs visit to Houston; the fact that they ended up rescheduling the games to Milwaukee on Sunday & Monday; and that I NEVER work on Monday's.

So, yesterday we went to the Cubs vs. Astros game, in Milwaukee. That's confusing enough to those of us who follow baseball (or that don't) but Trevor was VERY confused by it. All thru the game he kept asking me if the Pirates were winning!!! He knows his NL Central teams, but he got all mixed up yesterday!!

The game was great, the kids were pretty darn good, and the Cubs WON!!! All's well that ends well. I got to see quite a bit of the game, but retrospectively, it was the scoreless innings that we sat through and somehow I missed the big home run innings!!! Oh well!!

The view from our 'official' seats (We wandered the park due to the kids and saw parts of the game from almost everwhere, including the upper deck, where we weren't supposed to be!! Oopsies!)
Trevor and his peanuts. He really loves shelling them and getting to make a mess!

Blake and his peanuts. He prefers to eat them Daddy-style, without shelling them! He just bites in!In the kids play area, hanging with the Hot-Dog and Chorizo. (Milwaukee does a Sausage Race involving these 2 and 3 others (italian sausage, bratwurst, and polish sausage.)
Trevor practiced his pitching.

My picture of the scoreboard at the top of the 7th, just before the Cubs no-hitter was broken up. Sunday, the Cubs threw a no hitter, and therefore went 15 straight innings without allowing a hit!!! Woo Hoo!
The scoreboard now showing the 1 (and only) hit.The boys enjoying their ice cream before we headed home!

Go! Cubs! Go!

I LOVE the Cubs! I'm really enjoying their current 14-game home win streak, their 32-8 home record, and their best-in-baseball 48-28!!! I know that the boys great-grandpa Jackpot is probably pretty excited too!!! We'd love to see this continue!

In honor of the CUBS fabulous record so far, and since we watch all the games we can, Trevor has learned the infamous (at least in Chicago) "Go Cubs Go" song, and loves to sing it with me, after the games. So here he is....of course, a little camera shy!!
